I just received my grandmother's old toaster and it is just like the one in the picture above! I have not yet had an opportunity to see if it works, but knowing how well she took care of her stuff, I am sure it does.
Those flip down sides were always my favorite kind of toaster. My grandmother also had them, but I'm stuck with a modern day 4 slicer from Costco. Little or no style, but it does make good toast. :-)
