Homer Laughlin China Company Ephemera
I think I remember that we had one of these. There was a tiny little freezer part where you could slide those metal ice cube trays in. The ones that you always skinned your knuckles on when trying to open them.Remember when it was time to defrost the freezer section. A neighborhood mom would place the chipped off ice in a big bowl and all of us would gather around to suck on the chunks of ice. We didn't learn until many years later how bad that was for us... cadmium poisoning! Who knew?? Karen Ladybug Creek
Hi Karen -Hard to believe that a family could manage with a refrigerator that had freezer space for a couple of ice trays and maybe some ice cream! Times were different I guess and going to the store for food several times a week was the norm. Thanks for stopping by,Candy
