I remember when this sort of pattern was popular. I'm sure you know of the pottery that is partially brown and has a drawing of sleeping Mexican boy at the bottom of the bowl. My grandmother would tell us, "Eat until you see the little Mexican boy." It was a bit of trickery used to get my little brother to eat. I keep looking for those bowls and I rarely see them.
